８月１０日は道の日。

１９２０（大正９）年、日本初の近代的な道路整備計画が実施されたことにちなんで、１９８６年（昭和６１年）、建設省が制定。国民が道路の重要性を再認識し、関心を持つことを目的にしたもの。

１９６８（昭和４３）年、全国珠算教育連盟が制定。そろばんの「パチパチ」という音を「８」「８」ともじって、８月８日とした。
